Free School Meals
If you are in receipt of benefits your child could be entitled to a Free School Meal. A proper school meal provides a healthy and nutritious dinner which studies have shown improves levels of concentration in the classroom.
Students in receipt of Free School Meals can purchase one each of any food item on the menu from their designated catering outlet up to the value of £2.50. Drinks that are available to purchase (e.g. milk, bottled water) are not included as part of the Free School Meal, but students can access free tap water.
In addition to their lunchtime meal, if you wish your child to purchase anything at breaktime, they will need to have working Parent Pay account with money on it. For further information about setting up a Parent Pay account, please email info@icknield.beds.sch.uk.
Free School Meal funding is provided directly to schools from the government. Luton Borough Council is responsible for processing Free School Meal requests and the school cannot do this directly.
